CLARKSVILLE, Va. -- In Clarksville, Virginia a pair of bridges move traffic across the Roanoke River. But just down the road in Buffalo Junction, you’ll find another span but no body of water in sight.
It's a bridge to another time.
“I love being where I am from and who I am,” George Sizemore said.
Sizemore turned 101 in November. He has lived nearly every one of those days in the same home.
“We never had a lot of money. But we had a lot of love in the area,” he said.
With the help of oxygen George shares stories of working the family farm.
“There was always something to do,” Mr. Sizemore said. “I think it is the most beautiful life that a man can live, to be born into the country.”

Brother (Deacon) George S. Haymes and Lillian “Odell” J. Haymes celebrate their 60th Anniversary.
The Couple's Motto
Blessed by the best has remained with them throughout these years. How did they make it? By never being too big and bad to say I am sorry.
(He) a baby born during the depression and (She) remembers the bombing of Pearl Harbor, say “that they have never experienced anything such as what we are experiencing now. They still say, “Give it to Jesus.”
The couple met at White Oak Fork Baptist Church, Virgilina, VA and married three months later with Rev. H. Wood, Pastor of St. Michael AME Church, Riverdale, South Boston, performing the ceremony.
The family consists of daughter, Cheryl H. Terry (Otis, deceased); Grandsons: Bernard O. Terry and Tyrone Maurice Terry; 2 great grandchildren and two special step-grandchildren, are all dear to their hearts; 2 very special friends that they hold dear: Sierra &
The couple Faith Community consists of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, South Boston, Frederick Eily, Pastor; family and friends throughout the Hyco Community, and neighboring areas, have sustained their vision in so many ways, but always God first.
